Aquatics Classes and Programs

Develop your skills and assist others by providing a highly sought-after service: childcare! This American Red Cross Babysitters Training Course teaches skills every sitter should know, including pediatric first aid and CPR.

Each session will be two days long. Registration is required.

This five-hour American Red Cross-certified hands-on class prepares students to recognize and respond appropriately to a variety of first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies involving children and adults. First Aid, CPR & AED training meets OSHA workplace requirements.

At the successful completion of this course, participants receive a digital certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years. Class size is limited to 10 participants. Registration is required.

This is a great class for both parents and childcare professionals. Participants will gain the knowledge and skills needed to respond appropriately to breathing and cardiac emergencies. This includes the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) to care for a victim experiencing cardiac arrest. This class will also cover the Epi-pen use as well as asthma inhalers.

Call the North Port Aquatic Center to schedule this program at 941-429-PARK (7275). The minimum class size is six (6) participants.

Future lifeguards, prepare for a fun, rewarding and lucrative job in this Red Cross instructional course. Learn the fundamentals of lifeguarding, water safety, and rescues, along with First Aid, CPR and AED. At completion, our Junior Lifeguards are eligible to volunteer at NPAC and shadow lifeguards. Registration is required.

Join us for a free series focused on keeping you and those you love safe! Learn basic CPR, First Aid and gain valuable knowledge to stay safe in, on and around water.

Come make waves in our all new bootcamp — a high-intensity year-round fitness class that will burn calories, tone muscles, and build core strength.

In this class, you'll learn the basics in the NPAC competition pool, including paddling skills and water safety. Later in the course, students venture out to Myakkahatchee Creek to try out class techniques in a real-world scenario with instructors.

Join Parks & Recreation for a special guided kayak tour to experience some of our area's best-kept secrets. Take in the scenery and learn about the flora and fauna along the way.

Tours cost $10 per person with a kayak provided or $5 per person if you bring your own kayak.
Limited space available, early registration recommended.

North Port area D-Fy members join to compete in relay races, water basketball and water volleyball against North Port Lifeguards, Police and Fire Rescue. It's an exciting event you won't want to miss!

Looking for a relaxing time to enjoy the lazy river when the water park is not open? Join us for Relax-a-Float! The Relaxahatchee Lazy River is open twice a week this fall!
