Therapeutic Recreation
The North Port Parks & Recreation Department works with numerous local organizations forming the T-REC Coalition of Sarasota County. The coalition is dedicated to offering organized therapeutic recreational programs designed for individuals with special needs as well as offering an inclusive approach to all recreation opportunities in Sarasota County. The T-REC Coalition of Sarasota County comprises more than eight local agencies working together to provide year-round recreational opportunities for teens and adults with disabilities. Monthly activities take place at different venues throughout the county and include dances, sporting events and much more.
Teens and adults with ranging abilities, as well as caregivers and family members, are welcome to join in on the fun at T-Rec! Participants will have the opportunity to socialize with new friends, learn to play leisure activities, and engage with their community. T-Rec Active
You're invited to a morning session of therapeutic recreation activities designed for teens and adults with special needs. Join us for an opportunity to make new friends and reconnect with others. During these sessions, you can enjoy a variety of activities including basketball, pickleball, volleyball, and cornhole. Please note all participants require caregiver supervision.

T-Rec Social Club
Teens and adults are invited to an afternoon of therapeutic recreational activities designed for individuals with special needs. Make new friends and reconnect with others, while participating in recreation activities, arts & crafts, movie nights, and board games. This is offered in collaboration with Sarasota County Parks & Recreation and Natural Resources. Caregivers and family members are welcome.
