NORTH PORT, FL – The Department of Public Works will be "Back in the Saddle Again" as it hosts the 2024 Road-E-O on Saturday, Feb. 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Public Works Campus (1850 W. Price Blvd.). This free community event promises a day of awe-inspiring trucks, roaring engines, interactive demonstrations and family fun.

“We’re thrilled to offer this unique event that celebrates the people and equipment that keep our community running,” said Chuck Speake, Director of Public Works. “The Road-E-O is the perfect opportunity for attendees to get up close, learn about how we serve North Port and enjoy a day of community spirit.”

Attendees will not only get up close with giants of the road, but will also be able to:

  • Meet the drivers: Chat with truck operators and watch skill demonstrations.
  • Climb into the cabs: Experience the thrill of sitting behind the wheel of a mighty truck.
  • Enjoy interactive exhibits and activities: Learn about the science and technology behind these heavyweights, test your operator skills, bounce the day away in the kids zone, find delicious treats from local vendors and grab a souvenir at the merchandise booth.

The City would like to thank its sponsors and community partners for this event: Ajax Building, Ceres Environmental Services, Everglades Farm Equipment, Halfacre Construction, Jarred’s Air, Kenworth of South Florida, North Port Area Chamber of Commerce, Pennoni Associates Inc., Sarasota County, Southern Sewer Equipment Sales, Sun State International, Tampa Crane & Body and Wharton-Smith, Inc.
