Finance team wins prestigious award for 17th year running

The City's Finance Department has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for the current fiscal period. This award is the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting, and North Port has achieved it 17 years in a row.

The award reflects the commitment of the City and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. The GFOA provides best practices, professional development, resources, and practical research for its members in government finance.

“This 17-year streak of accolades stands as a testament to the Finance team's unwavering dedication to fiscal responsibility," Finance Director Kimberly Williams said. "Their tireless efforts have culminated in this well-deserved recognition. I’m immensely proud of the entire team's invaluable contributions."
